New editor of Western Planner

The adage that the only constant is change still rings true for the Western Planner in 2019. Rachel Girt has served as the editor for The Western Planner since 2011, but recently transitioned to serve with Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon as his Communications Director. We are grateful for all of Rachel’s work over the years and excited for her future.

With her departure, the Western Planner board has appointed Paul Moberly, AICP as the new editor. Having served on the editorial board for the past three years, Paul is currently a Community Development Specialist with the State of Utah's Community Development Office. Although he has a professional background in international business and marketing communications, Paul has been a long-time student of rural issues. He's consulted with rural towns throughout upstate New York, the Adirondacks, and Utah and has studied rural issues during the past decade throughout the Northeast and Northwest. He holds a Masters in Regional Planning from Cornell University, a community development-focused Masters in Education from Boise State University, and a Bachelors in Technical Writing from Eastern Washington University. Paul is very excited to work more closely with the board and help the Western Planner in supporting the planners who shape the West.
